Wissahickon Birdathon Presentation
Friday, April 26th, 2019
11:00 AM at Foulkeways Auditorium
The Wissahickon Creek is a gem of our community, offering natural and recreational value to Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties.
Kristy Morley, Naturalist for the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA) will discuss what a watershed is, what WVWA has been doing since 1957 to help the health of the watershed, and what we can do individually and as a community to improve the quality of the Wissahickon moving forward. More specifically, she’ll explain how birds can act as bellwethers of watershed health because they respond to basic changes in landscape and habitat conditions, and discuss WVWA’s bird conservation efforts including Citizen Science projects and Birdathon.
