May: Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

May has been designated Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month recognizing the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to the United States’ history, culture, and achievements.

Foulkeways embraces and celebrates the Asian American Pacific heritage month with an exhibit of accomplished Asian-Americans displayed throughout the campus. Residents, families, and staff have enjoyed the exhibit with a daughter of one of the Foulkeways residents commenting, “I also want to share thanks for the exhibit of accomplished Asian-Americans that I saw along Main Street.

“It’s always welcome to appreciate the diversity of significant talent in our country but is particularly timely given the current, tragic attacks on Asian Americans. Our Chinese daughters have some fear because of this, and so it was nice to be able to tell them that Foulkeways is openly honoring their culture.”
